Keeping three kids organized can feel like a full time job. Between school schedules, chores, sports, appointments, and everyday responsibilities, things can get chaotic fast.
When we moved into our new house, there was one thing I knew I wanted to add right away was a digital family calendar.
We got ours on Amazon as a Christmas gift, and honestly, it has been one of the BEST systems we’ve ever used for keeping our household running smoothly.
Why We Decided to Try a Digital Family Calendar
With kids ages 11, 9, and 5, we were constantly reminding them about chores, routines, and responsibilities. It started to feel like I was repeating the same things every single day.
I wanted something that would:
• Help the kids remember their tasks
• Teach responsibility
• Create structure for our mornings and evenings
• Keep our family schedule visible in one place
A digital family calendar checked all those boxes.
Now the kids can see what needs to be done without me having to remind them constantly.
How Our Kids Use It Every Day
One of the best parts is that each child has their own section on the calendar.
Their lists include both morning (AM) and evening (PM) tasks, so they know exactly what needs to get done throughout the day.
Some of the chores on their lists include things like:
• Clean room
• Brush teeth
• Pack backpack
• Feed pets
• Put away laundry
When they finish something, they simply tap the task and mark it as complete.
Even my 5 year old loves checking things off the list, which has been great for teaching responsibility at a young age.
The Star Point and Allowance System
Another feature we really love is the point system.
You can assign star values to each task based on how important or difficult it is. For example:
• Simple tasks might be worth 1 star
• Bigger chores might be worth 3–5 stars
You can also set an allowance amount, which makes it easy to reward the kids when they reach certain goals.
This has been a great motivator for them, and it helps them understand that responsibility leads to rewards.
Help for My ADHD Child
One of my kids has ADHD and tends to forget things easily.
Having everything displayed on the screen has made a huge difference.
Instead of relying on memory, they can simply look at the calendar and see:
• What needs to be done
• What’s already finished
• What’s coming up next
It has taken a lot of stress off both of us.
Connecting It to Our Family Schedule
We also connected the calendar to our FamCal app, which allows the kids to see the family schedule.
This means they can quickly check:
• Sports practices
• Doctor appointments
• School events
• Family plans
It helps them understand what the day looks like and when we need to leave for things.
Other Features We Love
The calendar also has a few extra features that have been really useful.
You can add things like:
• Grocery lists
• Notes
• Photos
• To-do lists
One feature our family uses all the time is the weather widget.
Before heading out to parks, baseball games, or other outdoor activities, the kids love checking the weather for nearby cities.
It’s become part of our daily routine.
Why It’s Perfect for Busy Families
If you’re a busy mom trying to juggle schedules, chores, and responsibilities, something like this can make a huge difference.
It helps:
• Reduce constant reminders
• Give kids independence
• Create daily structure
• Keep the entire family organized
For us, it has truly been a lifesaver for managing daily routines.
Where We Got Ours
We purchased our digital family calendar on Amazon, and it’s honestly one of the best things we’ve added to our home.
It has been such a helpful tool for our family, and I love seeing the kids take ownership of their routines.

FAQ: Digital Family Calendar and Chore Chart
What is a digital family calendar?
A digital family calendar is a smart display that helps families keep track of schedules, chores, reminders, routines, and lists all in one place. It gives everyone an easy way to see what needs to get done each day.
Can kids use a digital family calendar on their own?
Yes. One of the reasons we love ours is that each of our kids has their own section. They can check their chores, mark tasks complete, and see what is coming up for the day without needing constant reminders.
How does a digital family calendar help with chores?
It gives kids a visual list of what they need to do in the morning and evening. Instead of asking over and over, they can simply check the screen, complete the task, and mark it off when finished.
Is a digital family calendar helpful for kids with ADHD?
For our family, yes. Having tasks displayed clearly in one place has been really helpful for our child with ADHD who tends to forget things easily. It creates a visual routine and helps reduce missed tasks.
Can you track points and allowance on a digital family calendar?
Many digital family calendars include reward features like points, stars, or allowance tracking. We like being able to choose how many stars each task is worth and set an allowance amount based on completed responsibilities.
Can a digital family calendar sync with your family schedule?
Yes. We linked ours with our FamCal app so our kids can see appointments, sports, and other plans for the day. That has made it much easier for everyone to know what is coming up.
What else can you add to a digital family calendar?
Depending on the calendar, you may be able to add grocery lists, notes, photos, to do lists, and weather widgets. We mostly use ours for chores, scheduling, and checking the weather before outdoor activities.
